This is THE GREASY SPOON of the area. Bike messengers are constantly sitting out front of the cafe, hoovering down their meal before heading back to work. Smithfield Cafe is trapped in a time warp, the decorations are dull and lifeless. Stepping into the cafe is like walking back in time to the Great Depression.
The food is simple, grease on meat, grease on bread, grease on just about everything. There's burgers, pies, sausages, and hearty breakfast plates. Strong coffee and teas are served here. If you're craving for a breakfast meal late in the afternoon or evening, this is the place for you. The cook is friendly, and your artery clogging meal is always served with a smile.
